When you need to convert PDF to Word online free, privacy and layout accuracy matter equally. Our PDF to Word converter processes your file inside an isolated, sandboxed Python OpenXML worker on our server rather than inside the web request, ensuring fast, reliable PDF to DOCX conversion even for multi-page documents up to 30 MB.
Every uploaded PDF is verified by extension, MIME type, magic file signature (%PDF-), and Poppler structural inspection before being encrypted at rest using 64 KB chunked streaming encryption. Your file is decrypted only briefly inside a private temporary directory during conversion, the resulting .docx is immediately encrypted at rest, and all temporary plaintext files are wiped—even if a conversion fails. Both input and output files are automatically deleted 24 hours after upload, or immediately when you press Delete Now. We never read, log, share, or use your file contents; we store only a random UUID, sanitized file name, file size, conversion status, timestamps, and a hashed IP address as detailed in our Privacy Policy.
Standard digital PDFs with selectable text convert cleanly into editable paragraphs and headings. However, please note our current technical limitations: complex multi-column layouts and dense tables may require minor formatting touch-ups in Word; password-protected PDFs must be unlocked before uploading; Urdu and Arabic right-to-left (RTL) scripts should be reviewed for ligature alignment; and scanned (image-only) PDFs require Optical Character Recognition (OCR). Dedicated long-tail tools for Scanned PDF to Word (OCR) and Urdu PDF to Word are planned on our product roadmap.
A few things you might want to know before you start.
Upload your PDF (up to 30 MB) using the converter above. Your file is transmitted over HTTPS, encrypted at rest in private storage, converted inside an isolated headless worker, and delivered via a signed expiring download link. You can delete the files immediately after downloading using the Delete Now button, or let our scheduler auto-delete them after 24 hours.
We store only a random conversion ID (UUID), the sanitized file name, file size, page count, conversion status, timestamps, and an HMAC-SHA256 hashed IP address for rate limiting. We never read, log, share, or use the contents of your PDF or Word files.
The maximum upload size is 30 MB per PDF file, and the default page limit is 100 pages. Files over 30 MB or 100 pages are rejected with a clear message before conversion.
Password-protected PDFs are rejected—please remove the password before uploading. Scanned PDFs that contain only page images without selectable text require OCR; our current converter places scanned pages as images inside the .docx, and a separate Scanned PDF to Word OCR tool is planned.
Our server includes Noto, Urdu (Nafees / Nastaliq), and Arabic (Amiri) fonts for headless conversion. However, because PDF files store right-to-left (RTL) glyphs in visual order, Urdu and Arabic output should always be reviewed in Microsoft Word after conversion.
All uploaded PDFs and converted .docx files are deleted automatically 24 hours after upload by a background cleanup task that runs every 10 minutes. You can also delete your files immediately on the result screen by clicking Delete Now.
